USA:

Pennsylvania State:
  • AcreValue is a mapping program that will allow you to see parcel lines when zoomed in. Select the chosen parcel and a pop up window will tell you the current owner, date of purchase and parcel number. You can use this information to locate the current deed through the recorder of deeds for the county and then start working backwards to locate the original survey, warrantee and patent. https://Acrevalue.com
Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania:
  • Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness is a great source for general information (and links) on the county, including links to resources related to pre 1803 (when Indiana County was created from Westmoreland nd Lycoming): https://raogk.org/pennsylvania/westmoreland-county/
Indiana County, Pennsylvania:
  • Historical & Genealogical Society of Indiana County, PA. HGSIC has many resources in their collection. Use their catalog or name index on their website and then contact the organization via email or phone for further assistance. Their staff are exceptionally knowledgeable of the area and very willing to help researchers. Highly recommend an in person visit to use not only their library but to visit their museum as well: https://www.hgsic.org/

  • InfoCon is a “pay to play” website that allows you to access Jefferson County archived court records (deeds, orphan courts, marriages etc.). The site charges $1.10/minute with a $25 monthly fee, but you can access the same records that are available at the Brookville Courthouse using their computers. Although you can also use InfoCon to access other counties, it is the ONLY one that will allow you to access Jefferson County archives: https://www.infoconcountyaccess.com
